Cllr Clive Towsey-Hinton, Liberal Democrat councillor for Phoenix Ward, has written to the Chief Executive at the County Council to request that the multi-use play area at the disused Sherwood Academy site on Wollaton Avenue in Gedling be brought back into use over the summer months.

Clive stated:

"The multi-use play area (basketball court) was well used by older children in the local area until the school site closed two years ago. There is currently nothing for older children to go to in the local area."

Clive and fellow Lib Dem councillor Andrew Ellwood have offered to use their ward budget for the current financial year to provide an access point on to the play area and secure the play area from the rest of the disused school site.

The County Council have recently got back to Clive and stated they are looking into his proposal.
